SMS terms and conditions

If you have sent a text to request a free guide:

This text has only cost you your standard rate (usually 10p).

Thank you for calling to request your free guide. We will call you within the next few weeks to arrange delivery. Thank you for your patience.

Any text you send in relation to the first aid guide will be charged at your standard network rate; the charge will show on your bill and the sender will appear as 82727 or 85010, not St John Ambulance.

You will not be charged for any text received from St John Ambulance.

If you have sent a text to make a £1 donation

Texts will be charged at £1; the charge will show on your bill and the sender will appear as 88008, not St John Ambulance. Approximately 70p will be donated to the charity once network providers have taken out their costs.

If you have sent a text to make a £3 donation

Texts will be charged at £3; the charge will show on your bill and the sender will appear as 70007, not St John Ambulance. Approximately 2.67p will be donated to the charity once network providers have taken out their costs.

By donating via text you consent to us contacting you to tell you about the work your gift is supporting – these updates are at no cost to you. If you do not wish to hear from us, please let us know by calling 020 7324 4163 or email us.

General terms

St John Ambulance will not be liable for delays or failures in receipt of any SMS messages, as delivery is subject to transmission from your network operator and processing by your mobile phone device.

This SMS service is being provided for St John Ambulance by a third party provider.

Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your mobile number, your carrier's name and the date, the time and content of your messages and other information that you may provide.

Data protection

Your data will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will only be used to keep you informed about our activities, events and services. We will not share your information with any third party organisations except where;

  1. such transfer is a necessary part of our activities, or
  2. we are required to do so by operation of law.
