Emergency and Basic first aid

This course combines the Emergency and Basic first aid courses. It’s ideal if you want to learn first aid protocols and resuscitation skills; how to deal with minor conditions and those that can become more serious; and how to resuscitate a casualty.

St John Ambulance welcomes young people from the age of 12 onto all our community first aid courses. If under the age of 16, you must attend with a responsible adult member of the family or guardian (two young people per adult).

Course duration

Six hours.

Assessment and certification

Continuous assessment by trainer and a St John Ambulance certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful completion of the course.
