Road users first aid
This short first aid course has been developed with all road
users in mind. It covers CPR, spinal injury, shock and other
necessary first aid skills. It gives students the confidence to
know what to do at the scene of a road accident.
Who should attend?
This course is ideal for members of the general public who wish
to know how to handle an incident on a road, be they drivers,
riders, cyclists or pedestrians.
St John Ambulance welcomes young people from the age of
12 onto all our community first aid courses. If
under the age of 16, you must attend with a
responsible adult member of the family or guardian
(two young people per adult).

- Bleeding
- Bone muscle and joint injuries
- Casualty movement
- Communication and hygiene
- Adult resuscitation
- Emergencies in public
- Head injury
- Primary survey
- Shock
- Spinal injury
- Unconscious casualty.
Course duration
Three hours.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment by trainer and a St John Ambulance
certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful
completion of the course.
